Rules of Origin

Preferential Trade with EU and the rules of origin –

Who remembers the 3 years non stop news bulletins regarding the trade deal with the EU – would we get one or not, what would it look like? Well, as we all know we got a deal, and it is known as the Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA). For trade to benefit from the preferential rates of duty when trading with our EU friends and Partners it is a condition that the cargo being traded is of preferential EU or UK origin. The rules surrounding these origin declarations are tightening and the GOV guidance is shown below. This area can seem confusing but it is vitally important to ensure all trade and associated documentation is compliant, if you have any queries or questions around this please be in touch with us here at CCT
